The solstice has passed, so the tide in constant battle between night and day has turned. As far north as I live this change is significant, we may be in for months more of snow and subzero temperature, but the sun is at last in ascendancy! Most of the day is in the dark now, the daytime is brief and separated by a long night. The winter has been mild this year so far, but still without the light this season can be tiring so it is a merry thought that we are past the half way mark today.

Nature is beautiful this time of year, intensely but fleetingly. The light advances quickly, the ice shifts and heaves, the raven glides by, the mist rises and falls, the shadows move. All in the silence that the snow blankets the land in. While the cold could well kill you if you stayed out too long, but that is just a minor detail. I've been busy on the ranch here this season which has not left me with the energy to get out and be more active artistically / photographically, will try to do better in what is left of winter.


I hope whatever holidays you happen to celebrate pass merrily and that the new year is full of promise for you all And that you have family and good friends around you to share it all with

dA sent me a devwear gift as a thank you, for the alpha testing of Groups I've been doing here over the last few months. Was a nice gesture from them. I appreciate the opportunity to be involved in the early testing where I got to share my feedback on the new system as it was built.



Hmm. Might be time for a haircut, I'll be tripping on it if it gets any longer
