Image Description:

Current work, from '08, full viewing is strongly recommended.

Part of a series, or class, of work that deals with nature in a direct observational way with out imposing on it very much. The point of such work is to communicate particular moments of being with nature in the first person. This stands in contrast to my work that exploits nature for form or for symbol or both, and these will be more peaceful and 'smaller' works of landscape and natural still life.

Your critiques are welcome, thanks for looking. :peace:

my god little brother.
this must have been one of those masterpieces i missed
while i was off planet hopping.
no manip' at all?
the transition between the dazzling sprinkling of
colors in the foreground and the almost ghost-like atmospheric perspective
of the background is remarkable.
definately one of those i may have to beg to use for
ref one day my young friend.
beautiful.

Got a pretty large print of this to a small art showing, was nice. Wish I could afford to own my own work like that instead of only seeing it on it's way to sell lol...

It's two frames blended together to get a higher resolution and expand my DoF, but is pretty much what you would see with a wider angle lens and higher res camera so not really a manip.

I think I have a package of misty landscape stock with this in it but I don't remember for sure

the little dots of colour in the front are really great and keep attention, i really only noticed them on second glance...
but what ties the pic together is the orange grass in the middleground - it's what caught my eyes first after the curious spider-webs. looking fine, and you as don't 'exploit' too much for form the image is not demanding for the viewer it is a set, solid impression you get from this.

(why does your work always elicit such wordy comments from me )

At full size the web detail and painterly-ness of the color spikes in the foreground really add to the work, at this size it has lost a lot of it's force but I'm glad people still take the time to look and get something out of it. But you are right the red grass is the hue counterpoint to the blueness of the air, as the dark foreground is the value counterpoint for the lightness of the air, the red though is the center of the image in many ways

I don't know  A lot goes into every picture, i'm glad to get a lot back from some viewers

thanks for the explanation about colour composition, i always need that. doing visualizations (computer-generated animations) colour is the only thing i actually have a tight grip on - the forms and composition are always moving wildly

The burst of colour that greets my eye at the bottom of the frame is just purely bewitching :) enchanted flames taking the form of foliage, with the seedlings adorned with plumes of white rising to form the veiling mist  Beautiful connectivity in here... I remain spell-bound
