Image Description:

Playing in puddles of neurosis. 'Give me one more medicated peaceful moment' 1.

This style tracks back to older pieces, but this work is a pinnacle of the type in my current work, at lest.

Under the waves all has been said.
Their voices are free.
Free from the sun's stare,
free from the noise of lost souls.

An exiled sound washed in with the tide.

On the waves their voice carries on.

Neurosis - The tide

Agreed. I saw your earlier, similar version and thought that it was the best piece you've submitted in a long time. I think the undercurrent of the work you share here is that you want things that are overlooked, commonplace, and altogether ordinary to seem mysterious and unfamiliar. This piece accomplishes that exceedingly well. It's decidedly intriguing!

Though I'll also throw out there that I think your previous version was black and white, and the lack of color accomplishes what I just said a little better than this piece, with it's subtle and recognizable green hues. ...Plus I really like black and white for reasons I don't know how to articulate :-)

Thanks for commenting man, I appreciated the feedback. :thanks: Stirring up eddies of unfamiliarity and intrigue was exactly the effect I hopped this image would produce, so it is good to hear I came close to the mark.

As for the undercurrent, I think I agree with your assessment. I consider the work of artists in large part to be communicating the way they perceive existence, the material / mental / spiritual / etc worlds they live in. In my case these worlds have porous boarders, so I find mundane material subjects can be perceived as springboard symbols to finer levels of consideration. Communicating that 'springing' is the undercurrent I try to keep flowing through my work.

I also liked the gray better, tonality gets to the root of this concept [as is often the case]. Also the orientation was more aggressive. But I felt it was too austere to be widely appreciated and that some people would enjoy a more perceptible version.

Very serendipitous, I did not even know of that song yet it fits extremely well. Thanks for sharing and for the fav :salute:.

Mesmerizing! The overall flow (for lack of better word) of the imagery is beautiful - my eyes keep wanting to dive deeper to follow the limbs and the absence of much color adds to the emotional aspect - well done my friend =)

Pleased you like it! It's work that plays to my strengths in terms of skill, so it's not surprising it's better then most of the work I submit which are aimed at exploring my weaknesses. [laughs] The grey is a little better, it's hard to get a perfect print of this photo though, there are too many good options.

I spent a lot of time watching this.

and I can't find the words to say something appropiate but I do know that its one of your finest works.

I love it.
